Elevated Courtyard Design in Toorak

For this project the client desired a distinguished courtyard feature that was maintenance-free and provided a relaxing space for swimming or spa use. A key aesthetic goal was an uninterrupted view of the pool and spa from the home's living area, viewable both day and night. Liquid Blue Pools responded by creating a visually arresting design that functions as both a superb courtyard water feature and a luxurious place to bathe. The pool itself is a versatile Plunge Pool/Courtyard Pool, featuring an Infinity/Wet Edge Pool component and a Combination Pool and Spa, all seamlessly integrated into the landscape.

This design is a masterpiece in superb dark ceramics and Bisazza glass mosaics, a fully tiled combination that is complemented by natural stone surrounds. The careful material selection highlights the chic, modern palette. To meet the aesthetic goal of an unobstructed sightline from the residence, the carefully constructed, tapered width of the balance tank eliminated the requirement for a pool fence. The dark tiling and structured lines create a "small space with a wow factor" that feels like an ergonomic work of art.

The operational technology ensures an effortless, low-maintenance experience. The system includes SplashMe smart pool automation , allowing for hassle-free, set and forget programming to control heating and automatically schedule lighting. The pool and spa are equipped with Pentair energy efficient pool equipment and a Pentair UltraTemp heat pump and MasterTemp gas heater , ensuring the water can be utilised comfortably all year round. Further simplifying maintenance is Paramount world’s leading in-floor cleaning system. The system also includes a self-dosing mineral sanitation system, which is detoxifying and ensures pristine water quality.

The project demanded tenacity due to several site limitations, including a constricted space, tight access on a busy Toorak street, and varying ground levels. Liquid Blue Pools implemented methodical solutions to navigate these confines. This involved planning traffic management for the busy road and deploying specialised compact precision diggers to ensure the pool was accurately shaped despite the tight access.
