Brighton
A synthesis of innovation and natural elegance in Brighton
Location: Brighton, Victoria Pool Type: Combination Pool & Spa, Infinity/Wet Edge Pool and Acrylic Window Pool
The client for this Brighton, Victoria, residence sought something truly exciting and out of the ordinary, yet desired a design that seamlessly incorporated a natural look. The core vision included the ability to view the pool through an acrylic panel from within the home, with custom bubblers acting as a dynamic water feature. Furthermore, they wished to enjoy the captivating infinity edge view from the outdoor decking, effectively merging the aquatic space with the surrounding landscape. Liquid Blue delivered a show-stopping concrete pool that epitomises boutique luxury and outstanding execution, masterfully combining two complex pool types: a sophisticated Infinity/Wet Edge Pool and a striking Acrylic Window Pool.
The pool boasts a fully tiled interior using ‘Poolside Emerald’ ceramic mosaic tiles, providing a luxurious and enduring finish. The wet edge design is prominently visible from the decking, creating a continuous sheet of water that spills into a surrounding moat containing dark pebble stones, ingeniously alleviating the need for a traditional pool fence. A standout feature is the unique aquatic acrylic panel window, which is the biggest single piece of UV and chemical resistant acrylic used in an Australian swimming pool. The design also includes an integrated acrylic windowed spa, further enhancing the luxurious experience without detracting from the main focal point. The transparency of the spa walls allows the spa to be integrated seamlessly while maintaining the pool's dominant scale.
This project was a testament to Liquid Blue’s ability to navigate complex engineering and construction challenges. The primary hurdle was creating the pool with a precise slot to accommodate the required inward bow of the massive acrylic panel. The panel was specifically designed with this inward bow so that when the pool was filled with water, the pressure would push it straight and flat. Bringing the largest single piece of acrylic used in an Australian swimming pool onto the site required heavy machinery and exacting calculations for safe and correct installation. Liquid Blue's highly experienced team ensured flawless workmanship, turning these unconventional requirements into a remarkable engineering feat.
The operational success is ensured by advanced systems. The project incorporates hassle free swimming pool automation through SplashMe, alongside Pentair energy efficient pool equipment. The Paramount world’s leading in-floor cleaning system and mineral sanitation ensure pristine water quality and minimal maintenance; the detoxifying mineral system is suitable for sensitive skin. Beautiful underwater multi coloured LED lighting from Spa Electrics creates an ambient and relaxed atmosphere, with added lighting in the moat highlighting the captivating effect of the bubblers and the overflow. The pool's filtration and mechanical equipment are expertly concealed beneath carbonised embered decking, maintaining a pristine aesthetic.
This Brighton project stands as a stellar example of Liquid Blue's commitment to delivering high-quality, bespoke designs with an unmistakable designer feel. The result is a modern oasis that offers unobstructed views from the homeowner's abode, monopolises the entire width of the block with stunning surrounding pavement, and provides glistening aquatic views from all angles. It perfectly fulfilled the client's request for something exciting and out of the ordinary, cementing Liquid Blue's reputation for impeccable finishes and luxury styling.
